Speaker's Biography
Diane Gorsuch
Diane Nelson was raised in Oakland and committed her life to Christ as a teen-ager. Since then she went on to become a nurse. After practicing nursing in the US for five years, she went to Australia to represent the Navigators as a Woman's Representative to the University of New South Wales. Besides being part of a medical research team there, she "pioneered" a ministry among women that continues on to this day.
She returned from "Down Under" and took up nursing in the US while she again represented the Navigators at Colorado State University. There she counseled young women in practical matters of faith. While in that capacity, she met and later married Geoff Gorsuch.
Together, they represented the Navigators at the University of Colorado where they counseled young men and women and then left for France in 1979 to do the same. After 13 years in France, where Diane became the mother of two daughters and the mid-wife of two campus ministries, she returned to the US with her family and was part of the prayer team of the Promise Keepers ministry in its formative years.
Since then, she has been teaching on the subject of prayer and faith and has been instrumental is starting and maintaining prayer ministries for women. In recent years she returned to school where she earned a Masters in Practical Ministry from the Leadership Institute, a seminary in Colorado Springs. Diane now ministers in South East Asia where she complements her husband's ministry as the current Director of Men's Ministry in Asia for the Navigators and she continues to coach her married daughters, Nicole and Julie, through long distance.
